OTTAWA, ON – May 15, 2015 – Northern Micro President Herman Yeh accepted the Intel Partner of the Year – Channel Cares Award last week in Dallas, TX.
This prestigious international award is significant because it is a direct reflection of the contributions made by NM and its team members in the Ottawa community.

Last year, Northern Micro donated over $100,000 (product, time and funding) to various charities and organizations.

“It is a true honour to receive this award on behalf of the company,” said Herman Yeh, President, Northern Micro. “This award demonstrates that our team cares and is willing to take action to make our world a better place. To be awarded the Intel Partner of the Year among the entire North American technology industry is an incredible achievement, and a great way to start our 30th year in business!”

Over 74% of its team donates time on a regular basis. That amounted to over 5,000 hours donated by NM employees to Ottawa community organizations.

Northern Micro employees also participate in an annual Relay for Life team that raised over $23,000 dollars last year in honour of colleagues both lost and in remission.

The Intel Partner of the Year Channel Cares Award also recognizes the environmental sustainability of Northern Micro.

Northern Micro’s Environmental Management System is ISO 14001:2008 certified. The company actively upholds the standards set about by the Electronics Product Stewardship Canada (EPSC), Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC), Energy Star and EPEAT.

It understands that environmental sustainability must rely on each individual member of the corporate team.

All employees and management contribute to the goal of reducing, reusing and recycling our products and the waste we produce.

This prestigious international award recognizes what Northern Micro employees already know: We are successful because of our team, and our team cares about its community.
